We are searching for an experienced Field Coordinator to take a key role in the InterVolve team, working alongside the community at Larissa-Koutsochero camp

Closing Date for Applications: 25th June 2017

InterVolve is a Greek, Non Profit Organisation taking grassroots action to facilitate basic human rights for refugees, migrants and vulnerable populations in Northern Greece. We fill gaps and offer resources and support. Since 2015, we have been fortunate to have had dedicated volunteers working alongside refugee communities in camps, and on urban projects. We are seeking new team members to help us keep our established programme of activities running.

We are currently building a small team to work alongside the population of Larissa-Koutsochero camp. This camp, located 20km west of the beautiful student city of Larissa, has a current population of about 860 people, over half of which are children. (It has a maximum capacity of 1500). We are seeking to develop projects on and off camp which respond to community identified priorities and which promote wellbeing, skills development, self-determination, and integration.

The Role

  • Working with a co-coordinator to assess needs and plan and deliver safe and effective consultation, activities, projects, and distributions.
  • Being accountable for resources
  • Managing, inducting, developing and supporting our volunteer team
  • Developing and managing food and NFI distribution systems
  • Accounting for effective use of resources
  • Leading on Monitoring and Evaluation of projects
  • Ensuring safe and legal working practices
  • Working alongside our logistics manager, HR and a co-field coordinator to ensure a consistent quality programme of activities and to develop responses to changing needs on camp
  • Liaison with other actors on site
  • Contributing to the wider work of the InterVolve Team
  • Supporting ongoing community activities and events as requested
  • Working with our director to manage and plan finances
  • Leading by example in upholding InterVolve’s Values and Code of Conduct, and Softex procedural guidance
  • Attending meetings as required (e.g. site coordination meetings, field coordination meetings etc)
  • Working 6 days a week

The work will be varied and changeable and will require a flexible and creative approach as these projects are in infancy. We are looking for a field coordinator who will help us develop the best long term support possible at camp. This is a chance to help us build something that will have a long lasting impact.
